Jurgen Facon fits the romantic image of the artist: someone who has lived, who has been shaped by the hard lessons of life. Through his art, he arms himself against prejudice. He dreams of being recognised for his art–not for his disability or for his person. From that conviction, came his concept Bondage. For Jurgen, Bondage speaks of connection, the search for dialogue with the viewer. Jurgen Facon: “I put on canvas what’s in my heart. Just because I give it a title doesn’t mean that’s what you have to see. Everyone is free to find their own meaning.”
