Crip Stories
Art up close and beyond the border
An exhibition that shifts your perspective:
Crip Stories is more than just an exhibition. It sparks something, urging you to see differently.
Here, “crip” becomes a source of renewed value and meaning.
Arts organisation Wit.h vzw travelled across Belgium and far beyond, seeking out artists working in studios connected to care and welfare services. Hidden from the public eye, these studios thrive with creativity and talent. In these places, truly special art is made by truly special people. Their work–powerful and unique–now comes together in the compelling exhibition Crip Stories. Here, you will encounter art that resonates: diverse in form, rich in theme, and always with a unique voice.

Crip Stories
Art up close and beyond the border
From 5 July to 21 September 2025
Open Wednesday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
“For an entire summer, the castle and park will be transformed into a professional art site where inclusion is the most normal thing in the world.”
“Crip” is the proud nickname for anyone who deviates from the normal, the appropriate, the recognisable. The term stands for an attitude, not a label. Anyone can be a “Crip” if they feel connected and want to engage with society. But above all, it’s your choice. And the stories are powerful and rich in vulnerability.

— a welcoming and meaningful place full of stories
We consciously choose to collaborate across the broad cultural field and across sectors.
Art is the voice of those who are not heard—for the crip community, it is not an expression, but a revolution.

Wit.h is a participatory arts centre mainly focused on visual arts (+crossovers).

De Lovie Castle Park is a welcoming and meaningful place brimming with stories.
