At age 16, Jan Henderickx began keeping a diary and discovered the power of language. A passionate Dutch-English teacher inspired him to pursue a degree in Germanic philology. From early adolescence, he has lived with depression and other psychological challenges. For him, writing and reading have offered as much support as any therapy. Jan is a member of the Schrij(f)(vers)groep, the  Kunsthuis Yellow Art writing collective, that consists of eight members gathering once a month, guided by Hugo Franssen.
