Monica Laroche loves reading girls’ magazines. She carefully copies out the articles that speak to her. Alongside them, she writes texts about herself: what she likes and dislikes, her favourite foods, things she would like to buy. She records her modest dreams, her interests, and her frustrations in full sentences on paper. In doing so, Monica gradually writes herself into being.

Calligraphy is the name she gives to her works.
