Dominique Cockelaere is often called “the happy painter”. His boundless enthusiasm for painting is contagious. Once, his days were full of variety, now, there’s just this one constant: painting. It seems as though Dominique’s world fully overlaps with his artwork. But are they paintings at all? He himself often refers to them as doors and windows to a house he dreams of building one day. Each sheet of paper, each piece of wood, is a part of that big, imagined house.
